The Farmhouse Project is a collaboration between organisations, groups and individuals in Govan.
We have come together to build a collective vision of how the Elder Park Farmhouse could be and to figure out how we get there.
We are doing this through work in and on the space (The Elder Park Community Garden for now but in the long-term on the farmhouse), activity in the streets and through a Participatory Action Research process.
At the moment the project is led by a steering group which meets regularly to develop the project and to make key decisions. All steering group members have some relationship to Govan and have a specific interest in the future of the farmhouse. If you’re interested in joining our steering group you can find out more here.
The Steering Group is supported by an Advisory Group made up of different practitioners and community members who bring experience and expertise and can support the steering group to make effective decisions.
The project also currently has 1 sessional staff member who is supporting the development of the Action Research and the involvement of volunteers in the project.
The project is currently led by the Common Good Awareness Project – a community organisation which aims to raise awareness and promote engagement in Scotland’s Common Good fund and the concept of Common Good more broadly. You can find out more about the Common Good Awareness Project here.
In the long term we see a specific organisation or Farmhouse Trust being created to take the communities vision for the space forward.
